A place is like a small unity of space which contains
purely temporary informations. To draw a visual line
from which we can observate everything that happens
and where we locate ourselves.
A city is made of those places determined by architectures
and persons who determine the social-cultural
context and refer to space and time. We try to assemble
a visual rectangle in which we can see what happened
and is happening in determined places.
With these pictures we try to reflect on the portuguese
society, using a space as a scene of two social-political
events of huge impact: the revolution of the 25th April
and the social-economic crisis nowadays. Both socialpolitical
contexts are formed of great intensitiy and social
instability where the social attitudes stand in opposition
to each other in the same visual border.
Pictures were taken from the same spot and angle like
original pictures on April 25th 1974 were taken.
